In 2024 EIG Australia completed the supply and installation of a 55kL aviation fuel farm facility for Mineral Resources Limited at their Kens Bore mine site. The project was part of the new Ken’s Bore Resort Construction Project and was situated directly next to the new terminal building, with above and underground pipework spanning 200m from the fuel farm to the airfield. EIG worked closely with MRL and Viva to deliver a quality facility that complied with Australian, MRL, Viva and JIG standards and provided a number of cost and time saving opportunities. This was especially crucial as the installation of the aviation facility opened up avenues for MRL to fast-track the launch of their dedicated charter flight service MinsRes Air.

EIG Australia was commissioned to oversee the comprehensive design and construction of the impressive 400KL Bulk Fuel Facility, which encompassed the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of Rio Tinto’s Lens AB Fuel Hub. In addition to this fuel facility, EIG undertook the construction of all services pertaining to the Non Processed Infrastructure (NPI). This encompassed a wide range of services, including the installation of site switchboards, lighting towers, building services, compressed air systems, oily water systems, and various other essential components

As part of our extensive scope of work, we successfully designed and constructed six Bulk Lube Hose Reel Gantries, equipped with the capability to dispense up to 14 different types of lubrication products each. These cutting-edge gantries were strategically installed in both the HME Workshop and the LME Workshop, facilitating optimal efficiency within the facility. Additionally, we installed an impressive 2 kilometers of Code 61 hydraulic I6 Spec Stainless Steel piping, ensuring the entire infrastructure of the facility met stringent quality standards.
In addition to the gantries and piping, EIG also provided a transportable bulk lube sea container, specifically designed to dispense lubrication products in remote field locations. This container serves as a convenient and reliable solution for lubrication needs in challenging environments.

EIG delivered the mechanical construction along with the electrical design and commissioning assurance of a major diesel filtration facility on Garden Island. This facility is capable of filtering 1200L/minute of Diesel fuel and is comprised of two high volume pre-filtration vessels, six high volume coalesces and filtration vessels.
Despite the perceived difficulties that the client foresaw EIG would encounter in delivering the complex and critically important project, EIG completed the project ahead of an already advanced schedule.

Designed, constructed and commissioned by EIG, the FMG Tug Boat Harbour fuel system includes a 200kl self-bunded storage tank with a custom-built offshore refuelling container, that has 800m of above / belowground piping which employs a state-of-the-art leak detection system, Mining / Marine grade MCC housing multiple Variable Speed Drive’s, PLC, Network Equipment and other pertinent process control infrastructure. The harbour also utilises a TubePress piping system throughout.
EIG also designed and supplied a remote fibre optic network to mitigate any safety concerns and send such signals over long distances.

EIG completed the demolition of a non-compliant fuel delivery system and the design and installation of a new larger capacity and fully compliant bulk storage and fuel delivery system.
This fuel delivery system provides diesel fuel for eight generators, which powers Koodaideri Village, the accommodation on site.
EIG provided the client with a fully automated fuel delivery system and lessened the need for manual inventory checking and refuelling.

Project NCIS-4B Oxley Wharf Extension significantly upgraded the fuel service infrastructure at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia. The upgrades included extending the AVCAT, Quarantine, and OFI pipelines. The AVCAT system now seamlessly integrates with existing pipelines at Parkes and Diamantina Wharves, with new refuelling and defuelling points increasing operational efficiency. The Quarantine and OFI pipelines are also fully integrated, featuring advanced control valves and monitoring systems within the SCADA system. These enhancements ensure the facilities are fit for purpose and support the transition from ANZAC frigates to HCF, positioning HMAS Stirling to meet future naval demands effectively.

EIG Australia was contracted to carry out a major fuel facility upgrade for F44 aviation fuel (JP-5). This project involved upgrading all fuel pumps, fuel piping, and over-water wharf fuel coping points, in addition to the supply and installation of new tanks.
One of the most complex aspects of the project was the complete new installation of the electrical PLC/SCADA CITEC system. Our team of experts worked diligently to ensure that the new system was installed seamlessly, with minimal disruption to the existing system.
We also installed hundreds of meters of underground piping with cathodic protection to ensure that the entire fuel facility was operating safely and efficiently. The upgrade of high volume filter coalescers was another crucial component of the project that we executed with precision.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with the Australian Defence Force to ensure that all work was completed to their satisfaction. We conducted thorough testing and commissioning of the entire fuel facility to guarantee optimal performance.

EIG completed the upgrade of the central emergency power station. This included the installation of a new back-up power station, with HV generators, fuel system, HV panels and control system. All systems were fully integrated into the active site.
EIG were engaged as integration specialists and were able to reduce client costs, allowing budget reallocation to complete further upgrades to systems in other areas.The additional funds allowed for HV cable upgrades as RAAF Pearce and an upgrade to the load bank and a new smart battery backup for the power station at RAAF Gingin.
EIG completed the high-risk work and minimised the impact on site operations, all whilst completing a planned stage cutover into an active site.

EIG were engaged to inspect, design and rectify electrical installations across multiple Australian Defence Force sites. This included detailed grade inspections of existing explosion protected equipment within hazardous areas, compilation of inspection reports and surveys noting any non-conformances.
EIG replaced multiple systems including hazardous compliant control systems, fire systems, distribution boards, lighting, power and earthing systems. Hazardous Area Verification Dossiers were then created for all hazardous areas.
Our specialist team were able to quickly adapt to all the individual requirements they were confronted with when working in such niche and high-risk environments.
Working closely together with the client, EIG Australia helped in achieving substantial cost-savings by adjusting both the types of hazardous substances being utilised and how they are stored. These changes resulted in greatly reduced outlay costs, future maintenance expenses, and most importantly the reduced size of the overall hazardous area footprint on the defence bases.

EIG designed and constructed a complete lubrication facility for the light vehicle workshop at Campbell Barracks. This consisted of the entire design and construction of the mechanical and electrical systems, including code 61 high pressure stainless steel piping for six lubricants and coolants. The hose reel racks were in groups of six on custom built racks in four locations.
EIG designed the custom lubrication dispensing and storage system to the client’s specifications, and installed the system within a sea container module, allowing the client to re-locate the facility to a new location if necessary.

Constructed in 1896, the Wadjemup Lighthouse on Rottnest Island is heritage-listed critical infrastructure. At approximately 38 metres tall, it is the fourth largest lighthouse in Australia.
EIG delivered a complete upgrade of the lighthouse’s electrical installation, including installing a temporary lantern to ensure that an aid to navigation light remained in operation throughout the entire project. This was a logistically challenging project with stringent quality requirements and a tight budget.
EIG is extremely proud of their team’s work on this unique, iconic project, which will maintain the ongoing safety of ships navigating Gage Roads for many years to come.

EIG were engaged by Fortec, alongside Main Roads WA, to supply and install an automated feature lighting system on the Mount Street footbridge. This enabled Main Roads to remotely initiate a lighting display to suit colours and themes for special events when desired.
The project was unique, providing feature lighting to enhance the bridge above the Kwinana freeway, and was designed with expansion joints, allowing for movement on the bridge.

EIG were involved in the design process to construct a new facility to replace the ageing facilities at the Kwinana Bulk Terminal. EIG installed new lighting, power, data/fibre, fire services including gas suppression system, security systems and access control internally and externally.
EIG scheduled the works in a way which minimised impact on business operations and efficiently integrated new services in conjunction with the current services. No damage or disruption to the existing services was incurred throughout the entire process.

EIG completed a full power upgrade and replaced an ageing transformer at Ingham’s Chicken. EIG installed a new 11KV transformer, 11KV connection, new LV submains and 1600-amp distribution switchboard. The submains comprised of 4 per phase 500mm2 cables on a 900mm cable ladder system. EIG was involved with the engineering and designs which included electrical, structural supports, pits, ground scanning, scaffolding, civil and fencing.
EIG constructed an elaborate cable ladder design which was cohesive with the existing infrastructure and provided the client with capabilities for proposed future expansion and efficient future maintenance.
